Using Well Actually
Collections and teams
A collection is a list of principles from any experts, with its own link at /c/owner/name.
It is how a curator says "these belong together", and how a team shares principles that are not public.
Create a collection#
Choose Create collection on your advisory board, on your profile, or in the Library. On a principle's page, Create a collection with it starts one that already holds that principle.
Collections are made on the website only, not in a synced repository.
What a collection holds#
A collection holds references, not copies. Each principle stays with the expert who wrote it, and their new revisions reach the collection by themselves.
- Open any principle and choose Add to collection to put it into one of yours.
- Follow a collection like you follow an expert. You then trust its curators to choose well, now and later.
- The owner of a collection can add members. Members curate it along with the owner: they add and remove principles, and can leave at any time.
Collections inside collections#
A collection can hold other collections: a Flutter collection can hold the Dart one. On the collection's page, curators add one they curate or follow. What the inner collection brings, now and later, reaches the followers of the outer one.
Curators can leave out single principles of a collection they included. The principle stays in the inner collection and only stops arriving through theirs.
Share private principles with a team#
A private principle is yours alone. To share it:
- Create a private collection.
- Add your teammates as members.
- Add the principle to it. Only you can add your own private principle to a collection.
Members see the collection and everything in it. It runs for a member once they follow the collection. Nobody can make something run in another person's agent.
